Data & AI Lab is a four-person data consultancy based in Pune. No account managers, no juniors learning on your budget, no pyramid — the person you meet on the first call is the person who designs and builds your platform.
Why we exist
Most data projects fail for the same three reasons.
They're scoped too big to ever finish. They're built on definitions nobody agreed to. And they're handed over as a black box the client can't maintain.
We started this practice after watching all three happen from the inside at larger firms. So we built the opposite: engagements that start with a two-week audit instead of a twelve-month programme, definitions agreed with the business before a line of transformation is written, and code that lives in the client's repository from the first commit.
Being four people is a choice, not a stage we're passing through. Small means every engagement gets senior hands, nothing is lost between sales and delivery because they are the same person, and we only take on work we can do well. When we're at capacity, we say so and refer you onward rather than stretching thin.

02 — Honesty
We'll talk you out of work
If a spreadsheet, a rule, or fixing your reporting would beat the AI project you came for, we'll say so — even when the smaller answer is worse for our revenue.
03 — Scope
Fixed price, fixed scope
Audits and pilots are quoted as a fixed number before work begins. If we misjudged the estimate, that's our problem to absorb, not yours to discover in month three.
04 — Handover
Documented as we go
Runbooks, architecture notes and model cards are written during the build, not assembled in a panic at the end. The goal is that you could fire us and be fine.
